Meet Akif

Chief Customer Services Representative - Cairo

"If you're thinking of joining, go for it!

I began my career with Rolls-Royce over 15 years ago, in their student & graduate programme.

Since then, I have passed-off the first three Trent XWB-84 into service with Qatar Airways, led and delivered a multi-million pound engine test at the Arnold Engineering Development Centre in Tullahoma, USA, been chartered as an engineer, got married and become a father to two boys.

Today, my role is to support airlines through problem-solving to maintain disruption-free operations, providing comprehensive technical, operational, commercial, and logistical support. I've also led modification campaigns with Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, and Egypt Air to improve fleet reliability and implemented monitoring methods to pre-empt technical issues.

'The sky is the limit', isn't just a cliché when it comes to the opportunities that Rolls-Royce can give you."

"What's my advice?

Stay authentic - there's room for everyone here, and you'll be genuinely welcomed.

In my time at Rolls-Royce, I have worked with our Cyber Security teams on robust phishing programs, our IT Delivery Processes team on ensuring our most critical processes are effective and regularly quality checked, as well as our Finance and Group Procurement teams on tax, UK pricing, and developing a robust plan for tariff management.

One of my standout highlights is the coordination and support of a work experience placement in procurement. I took full ownership of the experience, offering thoughtful structure and insight into early careers and Rolls-Royce as an organisation. The feedback was very positive.

In my spare time, I also help colleagues learn additional languages, teaching French lessons through our cafés, tandem exchanges, and communities."
