Germany Emerging Talent Programmes

Apprenticeships

Length: Typically, 3.5 years (2 years for Metal Technology Specialist).

Applications usually open annually in August/ September. Rolls-Royce provides practical training in small groups, with participants rotating across various departments to develop diverse skills. Theoretical instruction takes place at Berufsschule (vocational school), creating a balanced learning approach. To be considered for this programme, students must either attend or have recently completed high school.

Graduates

Length: 24 months.

Applications usually open in Autumn/Spring. Rolls-Royce offers their graduates the opportunity to participate in strategic rotational “gigs” across various business areas. There will be a dedicated mentor for each graduate who will provide guidance, feedback, and support with career development.

Work Experience

Length: 2-3 weeks (unpaid) all year long.

Applications usually open in August/September. Rolls-Royce offers work experience opportunities designed for school students. The programme is aimed at all students who attend school in Germany.

Working Students

Length: Part-time (19 hours/week), typically on a 1-year contract (max 2 years).

Applications are open all year round. Valuable practical experience alongside studies. Requirement: Enrolment at a university or university of applied sciences in Germany.

Internships

Length: Full-time, typically 6 months.

Applications are open all year round. Rolls-Royce internships provide opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience.

Thesis Opportunities

Length: 3–6 months (full-time engagement).

Applications are open all year round. Students can write their thesis at Rolls-Royce, with real practical relevance and access to advanced technology.
