What you’ll need

If applying for Civil Aerospace: Any STEM degree, or a joint-honours that combines a STEM subject with another like business or economics.

If applying for Electrical: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Mechatronic (combined Mechanical, Electronical and Control Systems or a joint honours degree that combines an Electrical subject with another like business or economics. 

You’ll also need:

What you’ll do

You'll work across the full Rolls-Royce product and service lifecycle, getting the chance to work in innovation and concept development, design, testing, manufacturing or service support. That could mean anything from exploring nuclear options for powering space travel, to helping pioneer the future of electric flight with the air taxis of the near future, to using data, technology and AI to improve a power station's impact on the environment. The variety of our work is huge.

It will mean building an engine from scratch as part of your practical project, with the help of experts in the industry. People who are as invested in your success as you are.

You'll be aligned to one of our business areas this will be either Civil Aerospace, or in Electrical where we are working to develop industry-leading electrical and hybrid-electrical technologies which will make electric powered flight a reality. You’ll have the flexibility to curate your own programme, choosing rotational 'gigs', moving across teams and projects gathering experiences. You’ll choose rotational 'gigs', moving across teams and projects gathering experiences across Digital & Data, Electrical, Manufacturing, Design and Systems Integration. For Innovation Hub, this could also include Project Management and Business Development. We want to give you as many options as possible at this early stage of your career. It’s all about growth, and how we can help you find the best fit.

Through a combination of digital learning, on-the-job training and practical skills development, you'll get to share your thinking, test your ideas, and start focusing on the work you enjoy most.

Alongside your gigs, you’ll get support from our leaders, technical specialists and your own dedicated mentor. Our framework for continuous learning and development will support you as you grow. Access via our internal networks and platforms to mentoring opportunities, leadership and technical experts.

Depending on your level of experience and the path you take, the Engineering and Technology Programme will take between 12 to 24 months. During that time, you’ll gain invaluable insight into the scope and variety of the work we do and where you want to take your career with us.
