On a 12-month internship with us, you'll experience that first hand. What’s more, you’ll get an amazing insight into the culture of Rolls-Royce.

You’ll be working with the alongside our experts, on live projects that really matter. You'll have the chance to gain valuable experience in areas such as Innovation, Digital, Design and Manufacturing and get an amazing insight into the way we work, and our friendly, inclusive working environment.

As well as 12-month internships, we run 10-week summer internships, meaning you can choose the best option to fit your studies. Please enquire by contacting [email protected] if your placement requirements are not within the standard 12 months placement period.

What you’ll need

Working towards any STEM degree, or a joint-honours that combines a STEM subject with another like business or economics. You’ll also need:

  • A passion for the future of sustainable power and the work you do
  • An open-minded, curious, collaborative and creative approach to problem-solving
  • Initiative, drive and adaptability, and be eager to learn

What you’ll get

£23,600 (pro rata) + £500 joining bonus to support with moving and hybrid working.

What you’ll do

You’ll join our Engineering, Technology and Safety organisation, which supports all our different divisions. You’ll complete rotational ‘gigs’, gathering experiences in areas like innovation and concept development, design, testing, manufacturing, or service support for sectors as wide-reaching as Electrical, Defence, IT and Digital & Data.

It means you could find yourself doing anything from exploring nuclear options for powering space travel, to helping develop exciting new demonstrator engines like our UltraFan. Or using data, technology, and AI to improve a power station's impact on the environment, test marine automation software, or keep our company cyber-safe.

Working across the product and service lifecycle you could be involved in innovating, architecting and designing products and systems, testing, manufacture or service support. As you immerse yourself in our business, you’ll experience for yourself the digital mind-set and curiosity that under-pin everything we do.

Through a combination of digital learning, on-the-job training and practical skills development, you'll get to share your thinking, develop broad skills and test your ideas.

It's a fast-paced, high-tech environment with plenty of variety. Wherever you are and whatever you're doing, you'll also learn a lot about yourself and start to develop a clearer picture of where your own ambitions lie.

Wherever we are in the world, we’re part of the community. Our people are engaged in STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) and we sponsor a range of STEM initiatives.

We’re also actively involved in other community areas, including the environment, arts, culture and heritage activity and social investment. You’ll have an opportunity to get involved if you’d like to support others on their own journey.

Social life

Social life

Our Apprentice and Graduate Association arrange events for Rolls-Royce graduates, interns and apprentices to get together throughout the year. Many of our sites have sports and leisure facilities and all have a varied social scene. At last count, our graduates in the UK were running over 100 clubs and groups.

From paintballing and skiing to volunteering or a night out, there’s a lot on offer, and you’ll have the opportunity to take part from day one. It’s a great way to explore your surroundings and meet new people at every stage in their career.
