Finance Professional Degree Apprenticeship

As a Finance Professional Apprentice, you’ll learn how essential responsible and effective accounting is to the running of our business. Along with the difference your expertise and support can make to teams throughout our business. All while gaining real work experience, earning a salary and studying towards a Master’s level professional qualification.

What you'll need

Five GCSEs, which must include Maths at grade 5/B and English Language at grade 4/C plus three other subjects at grade 4/C.
112 UCAS points (obtained or predicted) from either:

Three A-Levels which must include either Maths; Physics; Business Studies or Economics at Grade C, plus two others (excluding General Studies)
Level 3 Extended BTEC in a Business or Finance discipline at grade DMM. .

What’s more, you’ll need to be:

someone who enjoys working with numbers and is curious to delve into them and unpick what they tell us
someone who can ask questions and interrogate data
curious about the world of finance and eager to excel within it
a person with strong team-working and people skills.

Fully funded Level 4 AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting and CIMA Professional Qualification (equivalent level to a Master’s in Accounting)

What you’ll do

You’ll complete five, year-long placements in different areas of finance, giving you an unrivalled breadth of experience. This might mean working in our Financial Accounting and Reporting team, in Finance Shared Services within one of our business areas, or as a Finance Business Partner to colleagues across Rolls-Royce.

One placement will be in a specialist area, such as Group Finance, Treasury, Tax or Internal Audit. On each placement, you’ll be responsible for completing core tasks and supporting teams across our business. This will give you a solid understanding of the fundamentals of finance and a strong foundation on which to build an amazing career.

For example, you might tell us about a project you worked on in the past or how you used your skills to identify a major problem. Whatever the case may be, we need to know you’re self-motivated and have a keen eye for detail.

YOUR MOTIVATION & ANALYTICAL SKILLS

As well as being interested in all things business, it’s important you understand how to solve problems. Tell us about a time when you put your skills to use to create a solution that worked. What new ways of thinking did you apply?

TEAM SKILLS

We’re also interested to know how well you work with others. It could be a group activity at school or college. It could be a sports team you play in or a voluntary, religious or community organisation you’re a part of. It could even be a problem you solved for a friend or family member.
