What you’ll do

All the way through your apprenticeship, you’ll be working alongside exceptional engineering professionals in our Civil Aerospace or Defence businesses. You’ll spend your first year gaining a firm foundation in engineering principles at college or our Apprentice Academy. From your second year onwards, you’ll complete a series of placements in different areas of our business. These generally last six months each, which allows you to develop a real understanding of what working in that area means. In all of them, you’ll enjoy on-and-off the-job training and outstanding opportunities to progress. One day a week will be day release to work towards your BEng Degree.

Please note for Bristol based roles, you will spend your whole first year based at Weston College in Weston-Super-Mare, except for some short placements on site at Rolls-Royce Bristol.

Once you’ve completed your apprenticeship, you’ll have a good idea of where your interests lie and what you want to do next. For example, in the future, you could be a Design Engineer, Stress Engineer, Aerothermal Engineer, Research & Development Engineer, a Service Engineer or a Lifecycle Engineer, working on new and in-service products.
