What you’ll do

You'll gain a firm foundation in engineering principles, before going on to placements in different areas of the company. These generally last four months each, which allows you to develop a real understanding of what working in that area means.

We recruit Engineering Degree Apprentices into a number of different areas. In all of them, you'll enjoy on-and-off-the-job training and outstanding opportunities to progress. Once you’ve completed your apprenticeship, you’ll have a good idea of where you want to focus. We’d like to know about

YOUR PASSION FOR ENGINEERING

YOUR PASSION FOR ENGINEERING

We’d like you to show us your genuine enthusiasm for developing a career in engineering. For example, you might tell us about an engineering project you've worked on, or a club you've been involved with or in your spare time. Whatever it is, we need to know you've thought things through and are fairly sure that this career is right for you.

HOW YOU THINK

HOW YOU THINK

We’ll look for your analytical skills, as well as how you solve problems. We’d like you to tell us about creative solutions you’ve identified and how you’ve learnt and applied new skills and ways of thinking. We want to know what motivates you and where - outside of school or college – you’ve done other things through your own choice, for example in playing sports, learning a skill, organising an event or taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award

TEAM SKILLS

TEAM SKILLS

We’re interested in how you work and collaborate with others. This could be through group activities at school and college, with your family and friends, sports, work, or in voluntary, religious or community organisations.

THE PERSPECTIVES YOU BRING

THE PERSPECTIVES YOU BRING

We support each other to learn and to grow across our communities and teams. However you identify, whatever your experiences, you belong at Rolls-Royce and should make sure others do to. Our STEM activities give you the chance to share your experiences with the next generation of apprentices, and our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are an important part of building and inclusive culture. They include the African and Caribbean Pioneers Network (ACPN), EAST - for everyone to share the diversity and culture of Asia, Multi-Faith Network (MFN), OPEN - for employees affected by disabilities or underlying health conditions, Prism - a network for our LGBT+ employees and their allies and the UK Gender Diversity Network (UK GDN), a network for men and women which aims to develop a gender agnostic culture.
