Where you can work

We have locations all over the UK, as well as our Apprenticeship Academy in Derby, and you could do your training at any one of them. However, where you’ll be based will depend on the programme you’re on, so we’ll need you to be flexible.

How to apply

What next?

There are four stages on your journey to becoming an apprentice with us but before you start, the following information is key to a successful application.

1. Important information

Don’t get disqualified!
We only accept one application per candidate, per recruitment cycle. If you apply to more than one programme, you will automatically be disqualified for both, so make sure you give this some thought!

Please also make sure you have achieved, or are on track to achieve the grades required for your chosen programme.

Do you have the right to work in the UK?
Unfortunately, we are unable to employ anyone who does not have the legal right to live and work in the UK, and during the recruitment process all candidates are required to prove they have this right with suitable documentation.

In the absence of any candidate from outside the EEA possessing immigration status which allows them to live and work in the UK, Rolls-Royce will consider sponsorship under Tier 2 of the Points Based System. Sponsorship is subject to all the appropriate criteria (as specified by UK Visas & Immigration) being satisfied.

Should Rolls-Royce choose to sponsor a candidate who is outside of the UK then note that it will be necessary for Rolls-Royce to make an application for a certificate of sponsorship from UK Visas & Immigration. Rolls-Royce cannot offer any guarantee that such a request will be successful.

2. APPLICATION

Find your desired programme in the Search & apply section online.

We'll want to know all about you,from education to work experience, extracurricular activities and languages. You'll need to choose options from our drop-down menus, but there are also plenty of space to tell us more about yourself, your career aspirations so make sure you do!

Once you have submitted your application, you’ll immediately receive two emails - one to acknowledge that we’ve received your application and a second inviting you to take our online assessments. You’ll need to complete all of the assessments provided for your application to be considered.

Please note, not all emails are compatible with our systems so please check your spam/junk folders to make sure you have received both emails.

You can also access these emails via “my job page” on your Rolls-Royce careers profile.

3. Online assessments

You will be sent a link to complete 3 online assessments. You will have the opportunity to practice beforehand and 10 days to complete these assessments.

4. Come to our
Assessment Day

If your application is successful, we’ll invite you to an assessment centre. You will also have a great opportunity to network with Rolls-Royce employees, so make the most of your time with us. Research and preparation is the key to your success!

  • Practical Apprentices only - Manual dexterity test: designed to measure your hand-eye coordination and motor skills.
  • All Apprentices - Ability test: as the assessments you completed on-line were unsupervised you’ll be asked to re-sit one of them in person. You may wish to re-visit the on-line practice questions at http://Rolls-Royce.cut-e.com.
  • All Apprentices - Group exercise:  we’ll ask you to participate in a group activity that will allow us to observe how you work with others in a team environment.
  • Practical Apprentices only - Motivational interview: we’d like to know a bit more about your practical achievements. Think about a time you've made, designed or planned something and be prepared to talk us through what you did and what new skills you learnt.
  • All Apprentices - Technical interview: we’d like to gain an understanding of how well you are able to learn and understand information that relates to our business. We’re also interested in your understanding of Rolls-Royce and the different sectors in which we operate.
  • All Apprentices - Competency interview: you will be asked to give examples of times you've demonstrated some of the skills and abilities that are important to us.
5. Starting at
Rolls‑Royce

If your application is successful, we’ll be in touch with the good news.

Once you accept a role, we’ll make joining us as easy as possible. We’ll put you in contact with the right people straight away so you can meet your colleagues, learn more about your programme and get excited about creating your career with us.
